Christmas in Australia?

in the US (probably in most countries in the northern hemisphere now that i think about it) the idyllic christmas is portrayed as being snowy, but in the southern hemisphere, where it is technically summer at christmastime, what is the stereotypical perfect christmas? is a "white christmas" still ideal, or is it more like a warm, sunny christmas on the beach?
