Are those covers on youtube legal?

So, if I make a cover and put it on youtube, is it legal? Because there's definitely a huuuge number of covers online and I would like to make some myself, but I'm hesitant concerning its legal background. Or is it like it's okay according to US laws but not okay according to Czech, Hungarian, etc... laws?
