Blood from my backside ??

this past week when i have been to the toilet and done the business , when i wipe my bum with toilet paper there is fresh blood from my bum hole . not much , just a small amount . i have no discomfort going to the toilet and there is no blood in the toilet either . it hasn't got any worse . can anyone advise ? by the way i am a straight guy , age 47 living in u.k.
