Extremely sad over heartache, was this his intention? Any hope?

i dont think there is any hope left with this guy, he is obviously still trying to get through his past relationship that seemed to affect him deeply. as for where you stand in this, you may have a chance with him in the very distant future. but not now. my advice to you is dont wait for him, let him heal and when hes ready and still wants to be with you then he will come to you.
