Resistance question?

say that i am measuring the resistance of some sample by putting it in a capillary tube and fitting copper wires at each end. the ommeter probes are then put at each end to measure the resistance. How is the contact area between probe and sample affected by the granularity of the sample and the applied pressure between the probe and sample?
