Bland country living room help?

I am in big need of some color decorating help. I love the country look in my house but unfortunately I have not enough color. I have a creamy white on the top half of my walls and I have a sand color on the wainescoating that is below it throughout the dining room and living room. My furniture is a sand color as well. I feel like my home lacks coziness and warmth. it just seems so bland. I want people to walk into my house and feel so cozy and at home. How can I incorporate some color? Should I paint some of the walls a different color? I have while curtains on my 2 huge front windows and I have a brick fireplace as well.
